Inspiration By eMMy B. at the end OF the daY take a MOMent FOr YOurselF as YOu wrap up a BusY daY and enjOY these pOsItIve thOuGhts FrOM a saCred heart COlleaGue. aBout a Month ago, I received an email out of the blue from a friend I hadnt heard from in quite a while. Weve known each other for close to 15 years, but because we no longer live in the same city, we havent always maintained the closest contact. When her email popped up, it put an immediate smile on my face, and I realized how much I missed regularly communicating with this wonderful person. She is someone who just gets me, and I can be as goofyor as serious as I want around her, without any explanation needed. I immediately responded to her email, and we picked right up where we had left off months before. I know staying connected with friends needs to be a priority in my life. Its so easy to get wrapped up in the minutiae of daily events and responsibilities. I find myself saying, Ill call her next week, but before I know it, another week or monthhas slipped by without making that call. Its important to nurture relationships because true friends are worth their weight in gold. Shes the one who will hear in my voice when Im upset or sad and show up at my door with a box of chocolates and a sympathetic ear. Or hes the one who will be there to pop the champagne cork and celebrate with me when Ive had a really, really great day. A good friend offers you unconditional love, care, and understanding. What could be better?
