DREW CAN BE FOUND in the Big Reds baseball dugout or on the sidelines of football games running to aid an injured player or stretching out an athlete's tired, cramped legs. One parent recently praised Drew's ability to connect with the kids, recounting how he helped her son through a difficult period that started with an ACL tear and continued through two surgeries followed by rehabilitation. She stated that within two weeks of the second surgery, Drew had her son back in therapy, working not only on his leg but helping him mentally cope with the injury. Drew was able to keep her son focused and was so encouraging that it gave her son the mental energy to keep working hard. Drew also emailed and called to check on his progress and took time to answer the anxious parent's questions. When the orthopedic surgeon was amazed at how far ahead in the healing and rehabilitation process her son was, the mother credited Drew for making the difference. Drew lives up to the Mercy-Centerville mantra that healing is forged in amazing service. LiveUP moment Physical Therapist Drew Higgins Lives UP in his work at the hospital and with young athletes.
