22 • Footwear Insight ~ September/October 2018 footwearinsight.com RECOVERY Hoka One One, known best for its ultra- cushioned running shoes, is a natural fit for runners when it comes to making slides, sandals and slip-ons for post-run comfort, as well. Coming in February 2019 from Hoka One are the Ora Recovery Shoe ($80), Slide ($50) and Flip ($50). "A recovery slide, sandal or shoe is something that is better suited for you to wear after a run," says Weimer. "Many people find the cushioning in the Ora collection feels good on their and legs after a hard effort." The Recovery from Telic is an aptly named shoe. It is designed with Telic's custom orthotic-grade arch support and made with shock-absorbing Novalon material. Telic co-founder and CEO Terry Stillman was an elite runner who attended Dartmouth College. He ran track and cross country, was Heptagonal/Ivy champion and a leading member of Dartmouth's All-American cross country team. "At Dartmouth, after hard workouts and long runs – when it was not too cold – we always used to take our shoes off and jog or walk barefoot on the grass to help recover," recalls Stillman. "The Telic Recovery is designed to mimic this same amazing feeling of soft shock absorption and propulsion and helps expedite the recovery process after training and competition." Adds Telic's Azzarito, "The combination of support and shock absorption leads to a complete underfoot coverage that evenly distributes the weight of the body; eliminating any pressure points under the foot." l Comfort and technology are key features for recovery footwear.
