Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has added a stateof-the-art computerized tomography (CT) scanner, offering patients highly accurate and advanced diagnostic imaging with the lowest radiation dose. THE PHILIPS Brilliance iCT SP 128-slice CT scanner with iDose technology provides personalized scan specifications for the best image quality. SAFETY FIRST "We know each body is unique and requires different imaging factors to obtain a quality CT scan," says Ali Gharagozloo, MD, medical director of radiology at Claxton-Hepburn. "Patient safety is our top concern. With the new 128-slice CT, we can manage important factors in patient care and safety while obtaining the highest quality images using the lowest energy, dose, and amount of contrast." RAPID RESULTS With 128-slice technology, images are clearer and more precise than priorgeneration CT scanners, and the imaging process is much faster. "Even as a patient is being scanned, images are being processed—in seconds rather than minutes—getting the scan to the radiologist faster," says Debbie King, director of radiology services. You can help ensure these connections continue. Did a physician positively impact your or a loved one's life during a difficult illness or recovery from an injury? Consider giving back to the community in his or her name. The Grateful Giving program allows patients to give back to the facility in honor of someone who helped them—whether it's a physician, nurse, or other member of the medical staff—with donations to help provide the excellent care residents have come to depend on. "Knowing patients had a wonderful experience is important to our staff members," says Cynthia Clusen, executive director of the Claxton-Hepburn Foundation. "When patients give back—whether it's $10, $100, or more—it helps the facility and our highly qualified personnel continue to provide great care, invest in new technology, and offer amenities to make patients feel more comfortable."
