Classes and Support Groups

Classes
Breast-feeding Basics—Learn the how-tos of breast-feeding. Covers the importance of breastfeeding, when to feed your baby, how much to feed your baby, breast care, breast-feeding
lifestyle and the support person's role.
Childbirth Education—Class covers labor and delivery, fetal monitoring, medications and
anesthesia, cesarean sections, newborn baby care, and breathing and relaxation exercises.
Participants view childbirthing videos and take tours of the birthing rooms, nursery
and postpartum areas.
Diabetes Self-Management Education—Three-hour class for two consecutive weeks.
Topics include an overview of diabetes, nutrition basics, use of medications
and avoiding complications.
Look Good Feel Better—Nonmedical, brand-neutral public service program that
teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help them manage the appearancerelated side effects of cancer treatment.
Newborn Care—Helps participants feel more confident during their baby's first six
weeks. Covers topics including how to feed, comfort, and keep the baby safe
and healthy.
Sibling Class—Class prepares children ages 3 to 12 for the birth of a new
baby brother or sister. Discusses safety and emotional issues.
Support Groups
Bosom Buddies—This volunteer-led cancer support group, established by a group of breast cancer survivors, is dedicated to helping
others cope with the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of
breast cancer.
 All classes are free, but registration is required. For more
