Better Health AS PART OF OUR COMMITMENT TO HEAL THE BODY AND THE MIND, THE SACRED HEART HOSPITAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CLINIC HAS BEEN MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE CHIPPEWA VALLEY SINCE 2011. "ABOUT ONE IN four adults in the United States has a mental illness," says Theresa Mackey, Director of Behavioral Health Services at Sacred Heart. "Our mission is to provide help and hope for children, families, and adults." ALL UNDER ONE ROOF The Behavioral Health Clinic offers treatment for a variety of conditions, including: • individual, couples, and • grief and loss family therapy • sexual abuse, assault, • medication management or other abuse • trauma and crisis • substance abuse intervention With the help of our experienced, compassionate group of providers—including licensed therapists and psychiatrists— patients can receive whatever care they need directly from the clinic. Therapists focus on psychotherapy while psychiatrists can write prescriptions and manage medications. The Behavioral Health Center also extends its mission to children, with a dedicated team of mental health professionals who have years of experience helping children and their families. "Nationally, only 20 percent of children with mental disorders get the help they need," Mackey says. "Left untreated, mental illness in young adults can persist into adulthood and negatively affect the whole family. Those who seek help here are not alone. Our highly trained staff are equipped to help improve overall mental health." Always Ready WHEN YOUR HEALTH NEEDS DECIDE TO ABRUPTLY FOLLOW THEIR OWN SCHEDULE, THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (ED) AND URGENT CARE CLINIC AT SACRED HEART HOSPITAL ARE PREPARED TO PROVIDE CARE. WITH 11 BOARD-CERTIFIED emergency medicine physicians, Sacred Heart's ED provides quality care when you need it most. "We are always ready," says Terri Binfet, BSN, Director of the Emergency Department at Sacred Heart. "That is our commitment to our community and to our hospital. We invite people to rely on our services for life- or limbthreatening situations, such as head trauma, bleeding that won't stop, or a broken bone protruding through the skin." The Urgent Care Clinic treats less serious conditions that require medical treatment, such as rashes, allergies, and sprains and strains. CONVENIENT CARE The Urgent Care Clinic is located next to the ED in the main facility of Sacred Heart and is open every day of the week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. "The location of Urgent Care adds value to both departments," Binfet says. "Patients can receive whatever level of care they need as determined by a nurse." During a medical emergency, an ailing person's last concern should be money.
