However, it is not only Northside's patients who benefit from mini-laparoscopy. Northside also uses telesurgery to share with other providers an understanding of these surgical advancements. We also highlight the trend of relying on physician liaisons for partnership opportunities with referring colleagues. As our feature notes, a national physician survey found that roughly two-thirds of participants were "very unlikely" to change the way they refer patients without physician liaison involvement. Our special clinical section about bariatric medicine includes topics ranging from tips for helping patients improve BMI to disease management techniques suggested by the link between sleep apnea and Type 2 diabetes.
