People In The News Health Quest announced that Robert Friedberg was appointed President of Vassar Brothers Medical Center, effective Jan. 6, 2014. Friedberg has more than 30 years of healthcare management experience, most recently serving as president and executive vice president of operations at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Ill. Delnor Hospital, a 159-bed hospital, has earned national recognition in patient, employee and physician satisfaction. It is designated a Magnet hospital, the American Nursing Association's highest honor for nursing excellence, and is also the first hospital in Illinois designated by the Planetree organization for patient-centered care. Crystal Run Healthcare is happy to welcome Andrey Mamkin, MD, pediatric endocrinologist, to the practice. Dr. Mamkin earned his BA from CUNY Hunter College in New York and his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine, Grenada. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Maimonides Infants & Children's Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., and his fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at The Children's Hospital at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, N.Y. Dr. Mamkin is seeing patients at the Crystal Run offices in Middletown (300 and 100 Crystal Run Road) and Rock Hill in Sullivan County. Crystal Run Healthcare's Chief Operating Officer, Michelle A. Koury, MD, has been appointed to the American Medical Group Association's board of directors. Dr. Koury, a board-certified internist, joined Crystal Run Healthcare in 1996. She was appointed as Crystal Run Healthcare's first medical director in 2002 and served in that role for six years until being appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2008. Dr. Koury has served as the Corporate Hero for the Hudson Valley Arthritis Walk and has participated in a "Powerful Women Roundtable" discussion at the College of New Rochelle. In 2012, Dr. Koury was honored by the SUNY Sullivan Foundation as a Woman Who Makes a Difference in health care. She is a member of the American College of Physician Executives and currently serves on the board of directors for the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. Crystal Run Healthcare announces the addition of four new providers to the practice. Joining Crystal Run Healthcare are: • Ryan Bell, MD, earned his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., and completed his residency in internal medicine at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. He is board-certified in internal medicine and seeing patients in Middletown. • Lunique Denis, MD, earned her medical degree from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, and completed her residency in family practice at Mercy Health System in Janesville, Wis. She is board-certified in family practice and seeing patients in Middletown. • Aria Williams, DO, earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, N.J. She is board-certified in internal medicine and fellowship-trained in infectious disease. Dr. Williams is seeing patients in Warwick. • Panagiotis Kouloumbinis, PA-C, earned his Master of Public Health and Master of Medical Science from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa. Kouloumbinis is a board-certified physician's assistant and specializes in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
