Easy Easter
NODYE EASTER EGGS
Use this simple shortcut to create pretty, glittery Easter eggs
without messy dyes.
SUPPLIES
• One dozen fresh or faux eggs (papier mâché, plastic,
wood, etc.)
• Glue dots (found in craft and office supply stores)
• Glitter (regular or fine texture)
• Small shallow bowls
DIRECTIONS
If using fresh eggs, first hard boil, and then make sure eggs are
completely cool and dry before decorating.
Pour each color of glitter into a separate small bowl. To apply
glue dots to the eggs, gently press each dot to the egg and
carefully peel away backing paper. Evenly space the glue dots in
a polka dot pattern or in a random arrangement. After applying
glue dots, roll each egg in glitter until each dot is completely
covered in glitter.
Though glitter and glue dots may be non-toxic, they are
still not safe to eat — decorated hard-boiled eggs are for
display only.

EASTER CHICKS
These little chickies are too cute, and by recycling a yellow
egg carton are cheap, cheap, cheap to make! Plus, they are the
perfect size to display decorated Easter eggs.
SUPPLIES
• Yellow Styrofoam™ egg carton
• Yellow and orange construction paper
• Black marker
• Scissors
• Craft glue
DIRECTIONS
For each chick, cut two cups from the egg carton. To make the
chick's body, stack the cups on top of each other to form a box.
Cut a strip of yellow construction paper about 1/2-inch wide and
1 3/4-inches long. Glue the strip to the outside of the cups to act
as a hinge.
To make the wings, beak, and feet: Cut construction paper
rectangles about 1/2-inch wide and one-inch long—four orange
and two yellow.
To make a tab for gluing on the beak and wings, fold two of
the orange and both yellow rectangles about 1/4 inch along one
side. Cut the area below the tab into a triangle. For feet, cut three
"toes" onto the final two orange rectangles. Glue wings, beak, and
feet onto chick. Draw eyes with a marker.
