What's New in Minnesota Health Care KIRAN LASSI, MD, JOINS MINNESOTA ONCOLOGY Minnesota Oncology is pleased to announce the association of Kiran Lassi, MD, with the practice of Medical Oncology/Hematology at the Plymouth WestHealth Clinic beginning Feb. 17, 2014. Dr. Lassi comes to Minnesota Oncology from Fairview Southdale Hospital, where she practiced since 2012. Dr. Lassi received her medical degree, Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine, Omaha. She completed her residency at Creighton University Hospital in Omaha and a fellowship in Medical Oncology/Hematology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. She currently holds board certification in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine. "Cancer is an overwhelming diagnosis," says Dr. Lassi. "My goal as a hematologist/on - cologist is to focus on each patient as an individual in order to provide the personal care, comfort, convenience, confidence and peace of mind they deserve." During her career, Dr. Lassi has authored a number of research papers on subjects such as "Hypofractionated Stereotactic Radiosurgery with Concurrent Chemotherapy" and "Emerging Therapies in Prostate Cancer," in professional publications such as Clinical Oncology and Current Opinions in Oncology. TILLGES CERTIFIED ORTHOTIC PROSTHETIC INC. ACQUIRES COMPANY IN MINNEAPOLIS Tillges Certified Orthotic Prosthetic Inc. (TCOP) has announced the acquisition of Metropolitan Orthotic Laboratory, Inc. of Minneapolis. The acquisition became effective Dec. 20, 2013. "The purchase of Metropolitan expands our footprint and al - lows easier access to quality care for existing and future clients of TCOP. The full-service facility in Minneapolis will greatly strengthen our presence in the Twin Cities and provide a base for future expansion," says TCOP founder and President Robert Tillges. Tillges adds, "As part of our growth strategy, we will continue to expand to provide consistency in coverage for our referral sources and convenience to those who receive orthotic and prosthetic care from us. Metropolitan is a great organization with quality employees which has provided an excellent product to the people and organizations it serves.
