Community Voices… Dear Mr. Gribbin, When we moved to New Jersey in June 2013, we changed all of our doctors to the local area. We specifically made sure all of our new doctors had participation with CentraState. On Dec. 18, 2013, I was admitted to CentraState for a chest biopsy. Everyone we met, starting with the admission process right through my Dec. 20th discharge, was absolutely fantastic. It is great to meet professional and courteous people. At 11:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve, my wife and I went to the CentraState Emergency Department. I had a body rash, a swollen face and difficulty breathing. We were very concerned and a little edgy with the breathing as I am a heart patient. Again, the people who were working New Year's Eve were calming and fantastic. Starting with the receptionist, the triage nurse, the nurses and staff inside the Emergency Department, and the attending physician—my wife and I were treated by sensitive and caring people. You understand that I hope I never have to go back to CentraState, but if I do, you guys are an off-the-chart 15 on a scale of 1 to 10. Sincerely, Lawrence DiSalvo Monroe Introducing CentraState Community Health Plan At CentraState, our mission is to enhance the health and well-being of our communities through the compassionate delivery of quality health care. As part of this mission, we listen to the community and take your health needs into account in planning the highest quality care possible. For this reason, CentraState, along with other hospitals and community organizations, conducted a community health needs assessment. This assessment, completed last year, revealed the need for access to care as one of the top three health-related concerns in the community. We realize that the current health care insurance climate in this country is challenging for many of you. To help the roughly 8,500 small businesses in our service area (and their employees) cope with the increased costs of health care, I'm pleased to announce that CentraState has partnered with QualCare and the Affiliated Physicians and Employers Health Plan (APEHP), a New Jersey self-insured, multiple- employer welfare association health plan, to offer an alternative health plan for the Central New Jersey community, to be known as the CentraState Community Health Plan (CCHP). This plan, available to small- and medium-sized employers, including independent physician practices, is the first of its kind in New Jersey to focus on offering health care coverage to businesses within a health care organization's surrounding area, all at an affordable cost. The plan is managed by QualCare, New Jersey's only provider-sponsored managed care organization. CentraState is part owner of QualCare. The plan allows those covered to be part of a robust network of physicians at a time when the networks of other plan providers are shrinking. We are partnering with and offering this plan through three local chambers of commerce: Greater Monmouth, Howell and Jackson. With the assistance of our other partners, CBIZ, a national employee benefits brokerage and consulting firm, and PIER Practice Solutions, a company that provides cost-saving programs and business-building tools for physician practices, CentraState is working to provide innovative solutions to employers in our community. At CentraState, we provide first-rate health and wellness benefits for our employees, and wanted to expand on that model for our community. The overall goal of this program is to incent our community to take better charge of their health care needs. Our employee wellness program has been successful over the past 10 years in producing a healthier workforce with lower risk factors through health risk assessments, biometric screenings and access to fitness, wellness and prevention programs. Extending our Live Life Well program into this plan is a key goal of ours. Now we can provide affordable access to care for local businesses. It is one more way that CentraState is helping our community cope with the dramatic changes in the health care landscape.
