11 LiveWell | Spring 2014 Almost a year after it began, a major renewal plan at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – New Braunfels is nearly complete, enhancing the delivery of care and increasing the comfort of patients and their families. Every detail was considered and included in the project to increase patient safety, foster a quieter atmosphere, and offer comfort for patients and their loved ones who stay by their bedsides. The Emergency Department, often the point of admission for patients, received extra attention to ensure all aspects of the area encourage efficiency and promote our patient-centered care approach. PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE As new medical advances offer opportunities for outpatient procedures with the option for comfortable recovery at home, a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Health Statistics concludes that hospital beds will eventually be utilized mostly for those patients who must be closely monitored.
