I RECENTLY READ an article about "Someday Syndrome." at's where you nd yourself continually putting things o, saying you'll do them "someday." e author of the article wondered if postponing her dreams and goals until tomorrow might lead to regrets down the road. Might she be passing up great opportunities along the way? I couldn't help ashing back to about 25 years ago when my mom and I decided we wanted to see more of the world. We had traveled to many beautiful cities throughout the United States, but had never gone overseas. So, we booked a whirlwind tour to visit ve fantastic European cities in 15 days. We loved Paris and London so much that we went back two years later and spent ve exhilarating days in each city. Now, did we have a ton of money sitting around to fund these trips? Hardly. But, for some reason we felt it was wise to do our "major" traveling while we could. ank goodness we did, because a few years later Mom began having serious health issues that would make overseas travel dicult. All these years later, Mom and I look back on our journeys with such wonderful memories. We look through our precious photos, and we reminisce about funny stories that happened along the way. We cherish the time we spent together on those excursions. Now, we could have easily suered from "Someday Syndrome" and put o traveling for someday down the road. Instead, we seized the moment. We're both so grateful that we did. Note to self: Treat every day as if it's "someday."
