2 SPRING 2014 Inspira Health Network Family & Friends Do you know anyone who has ample time for preventive health screenings, regular checkups, follow- up tests and staying up to date on the latest health and wellness news? Just about everyone I know would answer "no" without hesitation. At Inspira Health Network, we recognize that this time crunch is very real, but that it should not stand in the way of your good health or the well-being of our communities. Inside this issue of Family & Friends we highlight the patient experience at several outpatient centers we have designed with your convenience in mind, with urgent care available 12 hours a day, seven days a week; convenient imaging centers, some located adjacent to the physician's office that orders your test; and special- ized wound care, now available in two counties (Salem and Gloucester). As you will see, our mission to improve the health of all we serve goes well beyond the walls of our medical centers — into the cities and towns where you live. By the time you read this, we will be opening one of three new urgent care centers that will begin serving our communities in the next 12 months. In this issue, we have also included information about our LIFE (Living Independently for Elders) program. It's a great example of a program that is focused on keeping people well; we are excited to share it with you. We hope you will consider Inspira Health Network whenever you or a loved one needs health care services. Wishing you good health, John DiAngelo President & CEO Inspira Health Network Q: In your opinion, what makes you the right leader for Inspira Health Network at this time? A: Health networks are extremely complex — no single person could possibly have all the skills needed to successfully lead an organization such as Inspira Health Network. I'm fortunate to have a great leadership team to work with as we enter a time of unprecedented change and opportunity. On a personal level, I believe my strengths are in the areas of strategic planning and finance. Q: How would you characterize the health system today? A: Inspira Health Network remains a strong organization committed to clinical excellence. Like all health care providers, we face challenges — reimbursement cuts and other changes resulting from health care reform. We are forward thinking, and well positioned to fulfill our mission of improving the lives of everyone we serve. Q: What new projects are on the horizon in 2014? A: We have a number of outpatient projects planned. This is in keeping with the nationwide trend of delivering more care in the outpatient setting. We opened an urgent care center in Woolwich, Gloucester County, this month. We are also working toward opening additional urgent care locations in Gloucester County and in the Vineland area. Our experience with urgent care in Mullica Hill has demonstrated that there is strong demand for this service. Q: What do you enjoy most about living and working in South Jersey? A: I continue to enjoy meeting the people in the communities we serve. They care for one another and work to make South Jersey a great place to live and raise a family. Even though I am originally from Philadelphia, my children now reside in New Jersey and New York, and we have easy access to these areas as well as Philadelphia. I enjoy the open space of South Jersey and no longer need to listen to traffic reports to get to work. What a great feeling.
