A Truly Deserving Recipient Hospital and Medical Center volunteer, Shirley Mortensen, as the 2011 Silver Bowl Award recipient for Davis County. Every year, one outstanding T volunteer from each of Utah’s 29 counties is recognized for his or her ongoing volunteerism. SINCERE CONNECTIONS When Davis Hospital’s doors opened in 1976, Shirley began volunteering he Utah Commission on Volunteers is proud to announce Davis and, since then, has been a beacon of compassion and comfort to the community and to the medical staff. Shirley continues to participate in the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and hopes to add to her more than 50,000 volunteer hours. Even during patients’ darkest days, Shirley is there to offer a glimmer of hope and understanding.
