2 FALL 2014 Inspira Health Network Family & Friends What's Happening? Inspira Health Network brings outstanding care — from prenatal and child wellness examinations to emergency services — to children and families in our South Jersey communities. Partnering with one of the best children's hospitals in the nation* The Inspira Health Network partnership with Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children now provides advanced specialty care at Inspira Medical Center Woodbury and at Inspira Medical Center Vineland. Both hospitals also feature specially designed, kid-friendly Emergency Departments open 24/7. Through the partnership, Nemours neonatologists are available around the clock to assess premature or critically ill infants. Pediatric hospitalists (pediatricians who specialize in the care of hospitalized children) offer 24/7 inpatient care as well as consultations with ER physicians and community pediatricians. The partnership means rapid referral access to Nemours network specialists and provides children who require complex care direct transfer to duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. Additional Urgent Care Locations Minor bumps and bruises, sore throats and sprains deserve quick, quality medical attention. Inspira Urgent Care is now available at three convenient locations: Inspira Urgent Care Glassboro, Inspira Urgent Care Woolwich and Inspira Urgent Care Tomlin Station. If children came with an instruction manual, it would probably be two feet thick and weigh half a ton. Undoubtedly, the sections on growth, development and health would be the largest chapters. Fortunately, highly skilled doctors; nurses; behav - ioral health professionals; dietitians; physical, occupational and speech therapists; and other health professionals are available to help, right here in our local communities. They not only have the information that would be contained in those imaginary book chapters, they can get to know your kids and monitor their health and well-being. In this issue of Family & Friends, we focus on keeping kids healthy. It starts with selecting a pediatrician or family medicine physician who can provide guidance and care from a child's first hours of life through adolescence. This issue also provides tips, schedules, strategies and even a recipe that we hope you find useful. And, as a leading provider of children's health care in South Jersey, we also offer some guidance on when and where to seek medical care. Our pediatric Emergency Departments in Vineland and Woodbury are open 24/7, and our inpatient pediatric center in Vineland has been enhanced with new sophisticated equipment so that more children can be treated locally, close to home and family. Here's to healthy childhoods! John DiAngelo President & CEO Inspira Health Network The Health of Our Children * Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is one of only 20 children's hospitals in the nation ranked in all 10 specialties by U.S. News & World Report.
