Refueling after the Big Game Once they're off the field, your student athletes need to replenish their energy. Try these healthy post-game snacks: • banana with peanut butter • Greek yogurt topped with fruit • cereal squares (whole-grain Cheerios, raisins, and honey pressed into squares) • fruit and cheese kabobs NO-BAKE ENERGY BITES This post-game snack recipe, submitted by hockey mom and Chippewa Falls resident Jill Holmlund, is sure to be a huge hit with champions on the ice and their parents. 1 4 I N S P I R I N G H E A LT H GETTING TO A HEALTHY PLACE HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER. INGREDIENTS 1 cup steel- cut oats ½ cup chocolate chips ½ cup peanut butter ½ cup ground flaxseed cup honey 1 teaspoon vanilla extract DIRECTIONS Mix ingredients in a large bowl. Roll into bite-size balls. Refrigerate overnight and enjoy! Chi–Hi hockey boys give them a thumbs up!
