FROM THE PUBLISHER This month's builder is being recognized for the second time. His commitment and dedication to the housing industry has earned him the highest respect from all his peers. Yvon Cormier has earned many achievements over his lifetime and recently was inducted into the Northeast Builder's Association of Massachusetts (NEBA) Hall of Fame in acknowledgement of his continued support of the building industry and outstanding record of civic and community involvement. I have never met a more dedicated builder who has such loyalty and has maintained the same subcontractors and suppliers for all these years. For years, I have supported the NEBA. I have enjoyed the many Betty Moore PUBLISHER (781) 925-1636 T bamagma@aol.com Greater Boston 36 Prospect Ave., Hull, MA 02045 dinners, dances, casino nights and functions at the Andover Country Club. I really enjoy this great group of members. They are dedicated to the association and the building trade. I also enjoy playing golf at the Andover Country Club and will never forget the first time I met Mark Leff. Nancy Beane always knew what foursome I would fit in with, and Mark was one of our foursome. To this day, that was the most fun I have ever had playing golf. I won't go into detail, but it was Mark's first time to play golf. It's not always about how great we play, but the fun we have. Mark Leff's dedication to the building associations at the local, state and national levels is appreciated and recognized. I also recently spent the night at the club. I highly recommend spending a night, or nights, at the club. My room was so quaint and cozy. After working all day in Andover — dealing with downed trees and no power in most places — it was so great to go to the club, organize, eat a great dinner and get a good night's sleep. The food at the Andover Country Club's restaurant, The Links, is excellent. Many local residents who had no power enjoyed their nights at the club. Thank goodness for generators. We also have sad news. Our well-loved industry peer, John DeShazo, passed away on Friday, Oct 28. John DeShazo, FBN Construction, was the 2003 president of the Builders Association of Greater Boston and the current president of the Home Builders Association of Massachusetts. He was a dedicated leader, and his work and contributions will always be remembered.
