Healthy Choices Greater Grand Forks is a coalition of community members from health and wellness fields with the goal of reducing the rate of obesity in Greater Grand Forks. One way we are doing this is by challenging our community to walk 1 million miles in 2015. Here's how: 1. Join the challenge at healthychoicesggf.org. Create an account and watch your miles grow! 2. FUN WITH FIDO The off-leash dog park at Lincoln Drive Park offers a place for you to run and play with your favorite furry friend. CRUISE THE RED The waters of the Red and Red Lake Rivers are perfect for launching your boat or trying your hand at canoeing and kayaking. TRY CAMPING Enjoy a night under the stars in the Red River State Recreation Area, featuring 113 campsites. If you have a motor home, take advantage of one of the 85 electric sites offering sewer and water hookups. TRAIN LIKE A PRO Have a race day in your future? Use the 8.5-mile loop trail to build endurance before the competition. HIT THE LINKS The Greenway boasts two unique golf courses––Lincoln Golf Course and Valley Golf Course–– so you can perfect your swing. » MADE BY MOTHER NATURE, PROTECTED BY PEOPLE The Greenway is a 2,200-acre park bolstered by a permanent flood protection system that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers developed after the massive flood in 1997. The park now links the communities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. » A HUMBLE HOST The Greenway serves as a year-round setting for fun events, including the Grand Cities Art Fest, Sertoma 4th of July, 5K and 10K races, musical festivals, and wintertime activities, such as ice bike races, ski days and Christmas in the Park. » OPTIONS FOR MILES Not sure where to start? The Greenway offers 20 miles of paved trails for biking, walking and skateboarding.
