SCREEN 74% Did You Know… Skin Cancer FACTS 30% 1990 2000 2010 80% While skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the U.S., only about 30 percent of us apply sunscreen every day before even minimal sun exposure. Apply sunscreen to all exposed areas of your body at least 30 minutes before you go outside — regardless of the weather forecast. Indoor ultraviolet (UV) tanners are 74 percent more likely to develop melanoma than those who have never tanned indoors. Sustaining 5 or more sunburns in your youth increases your lifetime melanoma risk by 80 percent. Women aged 39 and younger have a higher probability of developing melanoma than any other cancer except breast cancer.
