RIDGEVIEW NAMED ONE OF THE 25 "GREENEST" HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COUNTRY FOR 2015 Ridgeview Medical Center was awarded the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award — Practice Greenhealth's highest environmental honor — which recognizes those facilities leading the industry with innovation in sustainability, demonstrat - ing superior programs and illustrating how sustainability is entrenched in their cultures. Ridgeview was also named a top performer in the Circles of Excellence for its efforts in the categories of waste, environmentally preferrable purchasing, water and greening the OR. Practice Greenhealth is the nation's leading healthcare community, empower - ing its members to increase efficiencies and environmental stewardship while improving patient safety and care through tools, best practices and knowledge. These awards are given annually to honor healthcare institutions for outstand - ing programs that reduce their facility's environmental footprint. Award winners were chosen using Practice Greenhealth's thorough scoring and evaluation system, based on the data each facility submitted to the organization PINWHEELS FOR PREVENTION AWARD GIVEN TO MOTHER-BABY PROGRAM Hennepin County Medical Center's Mother-Baby Program's Day Hospital was recently recognized by the Minnesota Communities Caring for Children (MCCC) for its commitment to the prevention of child maltreatment through collabora - tive public, private, nonprofit and local services efforts. The Mother-Baby Program opened in 2013 and was the first program of its kind in Minnesota, offering a range of mental health services to support women and families. Each year, MCCC presents Pinwheels for Prevention awards to community lead - ers in an effort to raise awareness about innovative programs and to encourage continued investment in prevention and What's New in Minnesota Health Care family-strengthening efforts statewide. The pinwheel is a national symbol of child abuse- and neglect-prevention awareness. More than 225 Pinwheel Awards have been presented since 2003. LAKEVIEW HOSPITAL CHIEF TO HEAD HEALTH SYSTEM Ted Wegleitner, President of Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, will become chief executive officer of Lakeview Health System in June. Wegleitner, who became president of the hospital in September, will succeed Jeff Robertson, who will retire at the end of June. Robertson joined Lakeview Hospital as CEO in 1987. When Lakeview Hospital and Stillwater Medical Group merged in 2005, Robertson became CEO of Lakeview Health System. In 2011, Lakeview Health System became affiliated with HealthPartners, but it retains its own governing and foundation boards.
