Education Classes spring 2012 [ TexasHealth.org Community ] Childbirth Preparation Class The Childbirth Preparation Class is designed for both first-time parents and experienced parents who have not had previous Lamaze or prepared childbirth instruction. One-day Saturday class April 7, May 7 & June 16 8:30 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. Main Hospital – Rio Grande Meeting Room Registration is $65 per couple, and lunch will be included. Sibling Class The Sibling Class (3 years and up) offers children of expectant mothers an opportunity to learn about the pregnancy and delivery process. They'll also learn what it means to become a big brother or sister and how to help Mommy when the baby arrives. Through games and a tour of Labor & Delivery, this class helps children understand that they are still special and loved. At least one parent, other adult family member or friend must accompany the child. Saturday class held every other month May 19 10 — 11 a.m. The Center for Women – Trinity Meeting Room $10 per child Breast-feeding Class The Breast-feeding Class is designed to help the expectant mother and her partner prepare for breast-feeding. Physician-presented seminars at these monthly meetings cover a wide range of topics relating to the physical and psychological stresses that can accompany this phase of a woman's life.
