Wait at Home With InQuicker ® 4 sometimes, a non-life-threatening medical condition still merits a trip to the emergency room (er). If you'd rather wait on your couch than in the waiting room, check in with InQuicker® . When Not to Wait While some health conditions treated in an Emergency Room are not life threatening, others require medical attention immediately. Some of these conditions include: • chest pain or discomfort • coughing up blood • debilitating abdominal pain • difficulty breathing • difficulty speaking or slurred speech with unknown cause • head trauma • loss of consciousness • severe allergic reactions • sudden head pain described as "the worst headache of my life" • uncontrollable bleeding • unexpected weakness, numbness or the inability to move any part of the body • vision changes If you or a loved one is experiencing any of these symptoms, dial 911. t exas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne is excited to bring InQuicker services — a new wait-at-home ER program — to the Cleburne community and surrounding areas. "At Texas Health Cleburne, we understand that there are certain instances while waiting to see an emergency care professional that being at home is more convenient and comfortable," says Kris Hires, R.N., ME.d., director of Emergency and Critical Care Services at Texas Health Cleburne. "InQuicker is an online check-in service that gives patients the opportunity to do just that." Examples of non-life-threatening conditions that can benefit from InQuicker include, but are not limited to, respiratory infections, potentially broken bones or strains, stomach viruses, and ear, nose and throat issues. How Does It work? If you have a minor ailment or injury, InQuicker allows you to check in at the Texas Health Cleburne ER online, enabling you to hold your place in the ER line within the comfort of your own home. After you enter your symptoms into the online system, InQuicker will give you an estimated time you should arrive at the hospital and guarantees that you will be seen within 15 minutes by a health care professional. If your symptoms indicate a more serious or life- threatening condition, InQuicker will prompt you to dial 911 or immediately go to the ER. "This new service allows us to better organize, coordinate and facilitate individuals who need to come to the ER, but would prefer to wait at home," says Hires. "In addition, InQuicker can also enhance safety, as many patients and parents don't want to expose themselves or their sick children to other airborne illnesses any longer than necessary in the waiting room." Next time you or your family needs to visit the ER for minor ailments or injuries, save time and take advantage of convenience and comfort by utilizing InQuicker at Texas Health Cleburne.
