NORTH ALABAMA EDUCATORS CREDIT UNION (NAECU) IS HOSTING A COAT DRIVE ACROSS ALL LOCATIONS THIS FALL. DISCOVER HOW YOU CAN JOIN WITH OTHER NAECU MEMBERS TO HELP THE LESS FORTUNATE STAY WARM THIS WINTER. A Mission of Mercy The Downtown Rescue Mission (DRM), located at 1400 Evangel Drive in Huntsville, offers a variety of services to help individuals in need live dignified, productive, fulfilling lives. The DRM provides emergency services to the homeless, including overnight accommodations and three hot meals per day. The organization's 12-month Residential Recovery Program helps participants reclaim their lives from alcohol and drug dependency, as well as emotional and physical abuse. After individuals complete the program, the DRM assists them in finding employment and housing. Proceeds from items sold at six DRM Thrift Store locations in North Alabama support the organization's programs and community outreach services. "North Alabama Educators Credit Union [NAECU] wants to be a part of the difference the DRM makes in our community," says Stephanie Ezell, Marketing Director at North Alabama Educators Credit Union. "We invest our time and effort in supporting the DRM because we see the transformative effect it has on people's lives." EACH YEAR, NAECU chooses an organization to support through fundraising efforts and donation drives. In 2015, we're championing Huntsville's Downtown Rescue Mission (DRM)—a nonprofit that has served the homeless in our region for more than 30 years. For more information about the rescue mission, see "A Mission of Mercy." "Our employees voted on a list of charities to support at the beginning of the year, and many chose the rescue mission because it helps people who could be our friends or neighbors whom we may not know are in need," says Stephanie Ezell, Marketing Director at NAECU. "With our contributions, we wanted to be able to help those in need who were in our own community." LET'S FILL THE BARRELS A er hosting a variety of fundraising efforts for the rescue mission, including a canned food drive in June and August, NAECU is preparing to kick off our biggest charity initiative of the year. Throughout November, NAECU will hold a coat drive at all four of our locations. "All community members are invited to stop by and place gently used coats in a DRM donation barrel," Stephanie says. "We would love for rescue mission trucks to have to pick up overflowing barrels throughout the month." HELP NAECU AND THE DOWNTOWN RESCUE MISSION BRING COMFORT TO NEIGHBORS IN NEED THIS WINTER. PLEASE DONATE YOUR NEW OR USED COATS AT ANY NAECU BRANCH DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. TO OUR COMMUNITY Spreadin Warmt 7 NAECU.ORG NOT FOR PROFIT, NOT FOR CHARITY, BUT FOR SERVICE
