Seasonal fund-raisers oer great opportunities to support your local hospital. FRIDAYAND SATURDAYNIGHT LIGHTS CHI Mercy Health Foundation's annual "For Mercy's Sake Sack 'Em" fund-raiser lets you support the Valley City State Vikings and Valley City High School Hi-Liners, while also raising funds for CHI Mercy Health. Community members pledge between $1 and $10 for each sack, up to a maximum of 25 sacks, made by the teams throughout the season. The money is used to recruit top physician talent. DECK YOUR HALLS Join us at the 20th annual Festival of Trees live auction, where you can bid on an assortment of traditionally decorated and themed Christmas trees—previous themes included Legos, Dr. Seuss, and Candy Land. A silent auction featuring other unique prizes takes place at the same time as the live auction. "The 20th annual Festival of Trees is a big milestone for us," says Stephanie Mayeld, Foundation Director at CHI Mercy Health. "We want to continue to make it special for the community." The Festival of Trees is the foundation's largest fund-raiser, and all proceeds go to support CHI Mercy Health. Last year's event raised more than $20,000, much of which was used to buy new physical therapy equipment. To learn more about these events, call (701) 845-6557 or email Stephanie at stephaniemayeld@catholichealth.net. To make a donation, visit www.mercyhospitalvalleycity.org and click "DonateToday." Your Fall Flu Season Reminder While maintaining good hygiene is most effective when practiced all year, it's especially important as we move into cold and flu season. Give your immune system the boost it needs by keeping these easy habits in mind: Keep a pen in your pocket or purse to avoid borrowing one that could be covered in germs. Make hand-washing a priority when you come home to avoid spreading outside germs indoors. At the gym, wipe down exercise equipment with an antibacterial wipe before and after using it to prevent contracting and spreading germs. Greatly reduce your chances of being sidelined by the flu by getting an annual influenza immunization. Whether you need a u shot or help getting over the u, our family medicine providers are here for you. Call (701) 845-8060 today to make an appointment. From Touchdowns to Trees
