801 Page Dr Fargo, ND 58103-2315 The Trip of a Lifetime A love of country music lured two people supported on a road trip across eight states. Richard Haggerty went to California last year, and he wanted to do something dierent this year. Because he loves music, Laurie Campbell, Manager at CHI Friendship, suggested he travel to Nashville for the CMA Music Festival. Campbell mentioned the upcoming trip to Brenda Degenstein, Manager at CHI Friendship. One of the people supported she worked with, Harold "Butch" Cox, is a big country music fan, and she thought it would be great if the two men could travel together. After coordinating with their families, that's exactly what happened. ON THE ROAD The rst stop in Nashville was the Grand Ole Opry for a concert, where everyone had great seats. The next day, Butch returned to the Opry for a backstage tour and got to play his guitar on stage, earning applause from the sta and others on the tour. Other highlights from Nashville included riverboat and trolley tours, and a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. The group then headed to Memphis, taking a tour of Graceland, eating barbeque, and dancing on Beale Street. Next on the itinerary was the Kansas City Zoo, where the group got to ride the train and Sky Safari as they viewed the animals. Then onward to Winterset, Iowa, to tour John Wayne's birth house, and nally a casino in South Dakota for a good meal, a tiny bit of gambling, and a night's rest. HAPPY RETURNS Only when the group left South Dakota did Butch eventually sleep in the car, having taken in all the sights. He wasn't the only one to have a good time. "Richard whistles when he's happy," Campbell said. "We heard a lot of whistling." Harold "Butch" Cox
