The home is split into two buildings, the main house is 2034 square feet of living space. It has an adjacent studio of 320 square feet connected by a deck between the two. The Stu- dio is an open plan with a full bath, and dressing are. Like the main house, a wide plank "pumpkin" pine floor was chosen to provide the "New England" touch as well as ad the warming perspective of an antique planked floor. The de- tached studio offers the homeowner the option to use it as a home office or as the guest suite for visitors with extended stay intentions. Lastly, one of the most important aspects of this house is how the house is designed to be "knitted" into the homeowner's life. Not only is the open plan aesthetically pleasing and well functioning for the homeowner, but it also provides un- matched comfort, health, durability, and energy efficiency. The Photovoltaic array on the roof provides the homeowner the energy independence many of us wish for. This energy independence extends into their daily life as the garage has a pair of charging stations for their electric cars extending their "Zero Energy" concept into their daily use of their cars. A battery backup system in the house adds a level of resiliency that is typically not associated with a Zero Energy Home. Simply put, this house is their energy generator for their life – not just their lights....... On a conceptual lifestyle level the home offers a freedom. The home will require little to no annual maintenance now and over the coming years. Exterior cladding, no-mainte- nance/no-mow grass, combined with no exterior paint or stain provide years of obligation-free living at this beautiful home – allowing the homeowners to pursue other leisurely pastimes and activities. So, whether your need is a new custom low energy or zero energy home, an addition or renovation to an existing home, or a complimentary carriage house, pool house, or outbuild- ing, your project receives the same level of professional in- quiry, respect, and understanding. My design process exten- sively scrutinizes every aspect of the development of your project. I employ a process of clear, practical, informational leadership that is never short of an opinion, or sometimes brutal honesty. My ability to listen, and flexibility to adapt to each client and their respective project places my services in high regard, and high desire. I not only welcome the opportunity to work with you and share my passion for architecture, I look forward to it...
