"A diagnosis of kidney disease affects the whole family, and certainly relatives and friends are welcome to participate in this program. Education is, after all, the most important aspect in dealing with this disease." "Another important point to bring up is that DaVita prepares and educates patients as to the many options with regards to treatment," adds Dr. Nylk. "Particularly for those newly diagnosed with kidney disease, it can be not only a very frightening time, but also quite confusing. Most people have heard the patients travel- and insurance-man- agement support as well as access to permanent dialysis placement and emergency services. "A strong and effective partnership between the dialysis provider and us is vital to not just optimize clinical outcomes, but also for the patient's peace of mind," says Dr. Mediwala. "Our experience with DaVita has always been excellent, and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partner- ship amongst ourselves, DaVita and our patients."
