In late September, CHI Friendship received notication that the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) selected us to receive an International Award of Excellence in recognition of our support for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. CQL accredits hundreds of organizations around the world, and we are thrilled to be one of four providers to be selected for this honor. Our Vice President, Dori Leslie, received the award on behalf of our organization at the CQL conference in St. Louis on October20. We are humbled to know the great eort involved in making this transition from facility- based vocational services to community-based vocational services has been well-received and honored by our respected colleagues. When we focus on getting the people we support involved with their community, great opportunities begin to unfold. Communication skills are learned, friendships are forged, and a sense of self-worth is gained for everyone involved. Thank you to our Direct Support Professionals and Leadership Team in your perseverance to make our vision to support this community a reality. You all play a critical role in helping people achieve their dreams. I look forward to nding what 2016 has in store for all of us. Sincerely, Je Pederson President's Message CHI FRIENDSHIP /// www.chifriendship.com 2
