Friendship Inc. 801 Page Dr Fargo, ND 58103-2315 Curtis Stenberg has lived a good life, and he's spent much of it doing good. Curtis was one of the rst people supported to move into one of our CHI Friendship locations in Grafton. He loves being around people, bringing an infectious joy into every room he enters. "Curtis is happy all the time, and he brings a lot of happiness to our lives," said Fred Thoelke, Curtis' brother. Fred and his wife, Mary, are Curtis' legal guardians. "He always has a smile on his face and is so upbeat. He enjoys talking with other people and kidding around with them, and he's especially pleased any time the whole family gets together, such as atChristmas." Curtis has attended many events with the members of his community over the years, including baseball games in Minneapolis and trips to resorts in Minnesota for outdoor activities. A former Special Olympics athlete, Curtis loves keeping both his hands and mind active by completing puzzles, a hobby that served him well when he worked as a metal sorter, one of several contracted positions he's held. A PASSION FOR SERVICE Now retired, Curtis often channels his energy and enthusiasm into volunteering, including a role in which he touches the lives of others, one cent at a time. "Curtis has worked with a fourth-grade class in Grafton, as well as local businesses, to collect pennies for the Ronald McDonald House in Fargo since 2005," Mary said. "He visits the class several times each school year to collect pennies and share information about the Ronald McDonald House. Once a year, he travels to Fargo to donate the money he'sgathered. "Curtis has certainly made a dierence in this world," Mary added. "For someone who wasn't supposed to live very long, he's now age 70, and I'd say he's quite remarkable." A Generous Spirit Participation and Presents! Thank you to everyone who helped make our annual Oktoberfest such a success! We're so grateful to enjoy this level of support from our organization and our communities. Thanks to everyone who purchased rae tickets and donated their time and talents creating items for us to sell, so we are able to make wishes come true for people we support. Our event raised enough money to make sure that each person will receive a Christmas gift this year.
