Health Quest's Patient Portal for hospital records already allows easy access to lab results, upcoming appointments and your medication history. Now, patients have the ability to access their diagnostic exams as well. "If patients have had an X-ray or a computed tomography (CT) scan, those results are available through their Patient Portal accounts," says Melinda Heady, MSN, director of clinical IT systems at Health Quest. "We also have notes about any emergency department visits and operative reports from any surgical procedures." Patients are asked at registration whether they want to participate in the portal if they haven't signed up already. Signing up requires nothing more than an email address. TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PATIENT PORTAL, VISIT HEALTHQUEST.ORG/ PATIENTPORTAL. Information AT YOUR FINGERTIPS Dear Neighbors, We said farewell to a hot, dry summer, but the warm temperatures remained with us into November. It was a beautiful Hudson Valley autumn. We enjoyed one of the best fall foliage seasons in years. Farmers markets provided a bounty of fresh fruits and vegetables. We are so fortunate to live in a region where agriculture continues as an important contributor to the region's economy and our well-being. Exercise and nutritious eating are fundamental to a healthy lifestyle, and the Hudson Valley provides us with ample opportunities to avail ourselves of both. Two common health concerns here are diabetes and obesity. We work closely with each county health department on ways to reduce or manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cancer. Inside this issue of My Health Quest magazine, we have a delicious recipe for you — you can find many more via our Health Quest Pinterest account — and a helpful article on diabetes "do's and don'ts." In addition, we have a story on cancer care and a feature on the new Dyson Breast Center on the second floor of our Vassar Ambulatory Surgery Center on the Vassar Brothers Medical Center campus. You will also meet Marie Cole, who didn't let a cancer diagnosis keep her away from one of her favorite pastimes — swimming. Marie is a survivor and inspiration to us all. ere are many other informative articles that are part of our mission to keep you healthy. Health Quest also offers a wide variety of community education programs. Look for announcements and schedules on our website, healthquest.org, or download our app, Health Quest U, on Android or iPhone. Please remember, Health Quest is your partner in health and wellness and we always consider it a privilege to serve and care for you.
