Central New York 05-820 PUBLISHER from the ............................................... Richard Keene PUBLISHER Central New York ............................................... rkeene@mdnews.com 315-446-8331 ............................................... @MDNewsCentralNY Thank you very much for reading the January/February edition of MD News. Once again, we examine the world-class health care available right here in Central New York. Our cover stor y features Nephrolog y Associates of Syracuse PC and their commitment to quality and col- laborative relationships. Shifting trends in healthcare reimbursement, quality and value monitoring, and IT infrastructure have required many physicians to evaluate and adjust their practice models. At Nephrology Associates, partnership, electronic health record acquisition and education have allowed the group to stay current, without sacrificing quality patient care. An expanding practice, Nephrology Associates has grown from two founding nephrologists to six physicians, three nurse practitioners, two physician assistants, two nurses and a part-time dietitian. Our feature story is on the great folks at VNA Homecare. As the baby boomer population ages and preventing hospitalization becomes more important than ever, VNA Homecare helps Central New Yorkers who need individualized in-home care thrive in the environment in which they are most comfortable. Based in Syracuse, VNA Homecare has transformed itself from a three-entity organization in 2011 to an eight-entity organization at present. Its roots in the community go back more than a century. In 2015, the company's oldest branch, the Visiting Nurse Association of Central New York, Inc., celebrated its 125th anniversary. Here's to many more years of service to the community. We would also like to welcome the folks from Cameron Group LLC to our magazine. Cameron is the developer for the Township 5 project o• of Hinsdale Road in Camillus. With a good bit of infrastructure in place and a half-dozen medical practices as tenants, the project looks great. Anyone looking for an attractive, well-situated site with abundant parking should look at the Township 5 development. Once again, I would like to thank all those who come together to create our magazine. Here at MD News, we are dedicated to delivering an engaging reader experience – one with real local relevance. In each issue, we highlight distinguished and accomplished physicians and practice groups. We also provide updates on the latest medical studies, pointers for managing your practice and a unique look at what is happening in the local medical community. We love to receive nominations for our cover stories, current news within your organization and feedback on articles. I would also like to suggest that you visit mdnews.com to discover a wonderful resource for healthcare marketing. We are here to serve the physician and healthcare community. Enjoy your issue of MD News, Rich Keene
