BEHAVIORAL HEALTH Comprehensive Website Provides Links to Substance Use Resources IN A SIGNIFICANT STEP toward encouraging integration between health care and behavioral health, SBIRT Colorado, with funding and support from the Colorado Department of Human Services Division of Behavioral Health (DBH), has collaborated with Access to Recovery, Colorado Providers Association, OMNI Institute and Peer Assistance Services, Inc. to create LinkingCare.Org, a comprehensive substance use resource for individuals, health care providers and substance use providers. LinkingCare.org offers: + Evidence-based screening tools for substance use + Licensed substance use provider referral database, geographically or judicial-district specific + Information on the effects of substance use on health + Resources and links to behavioral health issues, news and research LinkingCare.org will expand to include a continuum of behavioral health resources such as substance use prevention, mental health and recovery support services. "A goal of DBH is to continually improve the quality of substance use and mental health prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery services," says Stan Paprocki, Director of Community Prevention and Early Intervention Programs at DBH. LinkingCare.org supports this goal as a powerful, reliable statewide referral resource for access to information on substance use services for awareness, treatment and recovery." Director Paprocki says the resource will expand to include a continuum of behavioral health. "LinkingCare.org encourages whole person care by supporting coordination between physical health care providers and state-licensed substance use providers, helping to build and strengthen networks of providers within Colorado communities," says Brie Reimann, Program Director for SBIRT Colorado.
