THANK YOU FOR MAKING US YOUR PARTNER IN GOOD HEALTH. Questions or comments? Contact the editor at editor@stdom.com. WE MAKE THE MOST IMPORTANT CHOICES OVER AND OVER— TO FUEL OURSELVES WITH HEALTHY FOOD, TO EXERCISE AND SWEAT—BECAUSE WE KNOW WE WILL LIVE LONGER AND HAPPIER LIVES BECAUSE OF IT. STEPHANIE EDITOR Food is fuel for the body. You may not like vegetables, but your body sure does. Lean and nutritious food keeps you at a healthy weight, gives your body the vitamins and nutrients it needs, and keeps life-sustaining organs like the brain and heart in good working order. I know it is tough, and we all fall off of the wagon sometimes, but just remember eating well and exercising will give you long-term benefits you will be thankful for in your future. MAGGIE EDITOR Making healthy choices about diet and exercise can be really hard— especially when you feel all your time is already spent dealing with family, job and other adult responsibilities that leave you exhausted by the end of the day. It can be a lot easier and less time consuming to grab fast food on the way home than to prepare a balanced meal for yourself or your family. But these bad choices add up over time. Remember to deliberately take time for yourself each day to care for YOU and your health. JULIA MORGAN WRITER How do you keep up the good habits while getting rid of the bad ones? Start by figuring out which exercises and healthy foods you enjoy most, and then incorporate them into your own healthy lifestyle. If you don't know what works for you, do some research to find nutrition plans and workout routines that include some of your favorites. After you establish what you like, come up with a plan and mix it up! s t d o m .c o m ON THE COVER: REBECCA TURNER, REGISTERED DIETITIAN. Check our Rebecca's book Mind Over Fork.
