At CHI St. Joseph's Health, we strive to provide hope, healing, and wellness to our patients and community. In this issue, we spotlight some of our programs inspired by this philosophy. One example is the CHI St. Joseph's Health Community Dental Clinic. In recognition that oral health is closely connected to overall health, this program focuses on providing dental care and education to those who are most vulnerable to having limited or no access to dental services and, in the process, reducing dental emergencies. Another program highlighted in this issue is the FATHER Project. A part of the hospital's violence prevention initiative, the FATHER Project strengthens community health by teaching parenting skills and healthy behaviors to noncustodial dads with the goal of fostering a nurturing environment for children. Promoting the development of children is vital to the community's future and a cause well worth supporting. One project that accomplishes this is the Food Angels Weekend Backpack program. This community program that is supported by CHI St. Joseph's Health provides kid-friendly snacks to children vulnerable to hunger on days without school lunch access. This issue also introduces you to our Hospitalist program—where a team of specially trained doctors and a nurse practitioner provide 24/7 care to hospital inpatients, resulting in better care for our patients. Lastly, this issue highlights the accomplishments of the Hubbard in Prevention coalition, which has worked for the past five years to decrease youth alcohol consumption. CHI St. Joseph's Health has provided the staff and has served as the fiscal host of a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services to do this work. We have had a great partnership with the area's schools, law enforcement, local businesses, and countless volunteers to help us improve the health of the communities we serve. Their work has truly made a difference! Thank you for the trust you place in us for your hospital care. Good Citizenship Lives Here Celebrating Success We are pleased to congratulate our recent award winners, who received recognition for volunteerism, nursing leadership, patient satisfaction, and organ donor commitment.
