Living the Mission Two CHI St. Joseph's Health leaders in the volunteer team were recognized with awards for their dedication to giving back at the 2015 HCAM Annual Conference. CHI St. Joseph's Health Volunteer Services Coordinator Betsy Meyer (pictured right) was recognized for her work managing the volunteer program at CHI St. Joseph's Health with the Volunteer Resource Professional of the Year award. One CHI St. Joseph's Health volunteer was also recognized for her work with the hospital and HCAM, where she worked as past state president and district chairperson. Carol Machovsky (pictured left) won the Heart of Minnesota Presidents Award. Deb Haagenson, CHI St. Joseph's Health Vice President of Patient Care, was recently awarded the Elaine Ellibee Award by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Inc. (NCSBN). The award recognizes Haagenson's role as a leader in the nursing industry. She has served as board president of the Minnesota Board of Nursing for the past four years, where she oversaw the implementation of an updated Nurse Practice Act and led the charge for new legislation to benefit the nursing field. A National Leader inNursing The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services together with nonprofit organization LifeSource recognized CHI St. Joseph's Health for our commitment to supporting organ and tissue donation. CHI St. Joseph's Health earned a Gold Recognition Award—one of just 17 given out in the LifeSource region of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota—for raising awareness about the important issue of organ, tissue, and eye donations. (Pictured Left to Right): Chris Broeker, Director of Quality; Carol Machovsky, Auxiliary Volunteer; Theora Goodrich, Auxiliary President; Deb Andvik, LifeSource Hospital Liaison Top Marks for Patient Satisfaction CHI St. Joseph's Health was recently recognized by iVantage Health Analytics and the National Organization of State Office of Rural Health (NOSORH) for our dedication to creating positive patient experiences. The hospital scored in the top 25 percent of acute care hospitals in the nation for excellence in patient satisfaction. The scoring system took into account many different factors and compared results amongst more than 4,000 facilities throughout the nation.
