Putting People First Excellence in health care — it's what we strive for every day. It begins with focusing on our patients and their families and partnering with them to provide the best possible care. To achieve the best outcomes, we treat each patient as a person first — a unique individual who requires a unique plan of care. This plan is built upon an unwavering foundation of patient safety, clinical excellence and "Wow!" experience. These three guiding principles sum up what is most important as we, members of the Inspira Health Network team, interact with you. We want to keep you safe, provide the best possible care and give you an experience that exceeds your expectations, a "Wow!" experience. In this issue of Family & Friends + You, we share stories of excellence and give you an opportunity to meet some of the patients and caregivers who teamed up to bring about excellent clinical outcomes. From an emergency cardiac procedure for a woman seven months pregnant to education programs that help patients achieve a better quality of life — and significantly reduce future trips to the hospital — these stories illustrate our commitment to excellence. John DiAngelo President and CEO Inspira Health Network ON THE COVER: Declan Schulze was born happy and healthy after his mother, Jennifer, suffered a heart attack — and had an emergency cardiac intervention — while seven months pregnant. Inspira Health Network recently announced plans to build a new medical center in Harrison Township over the next three years, strengthening its commitment to Gloucester County residents. The opening of the approximately 300,000-square-foot, 180-bed medical center on Route 322 — near Exit 50 of Route 55 — will mark the beginning of a new era in health care for Gloucester County. The facility will feature: • Advanced surgical suites • All-private patient rooms • A cardiac catheterization laboratory with emergency angioplasty capabilities for treating heart attack patients • An emergency department with a dedicated pediatric unit • Inpatient pediatric services • A maternity center More than 1,400 employees and hundreds of physicians will provide care and services to patients and their families. A leading- edge electronic medical record system will increase efficiency and patient safety, while seamlessly connecting all elements of a patient's care. The location of the medical center, next to Rowan University's West Campus, will offer unique opportunities to collaborate with the university in training the medical professionals of the future. Of the approximately $350 million allocated to the project, a portion will be used to renovate the Inspira Medical Center Woodbury campus, which will remain an integral part of health care in Gloucester County and South Jersey.
