We won't leave the house without make-up, and we're afraid to run into people when we aren't dressed a particular way. We have to wear the latest fashions, lose 20 pounds, have straight hair instead of curly—the list goes on and on. Ladies, be your best. Be healthy. But most importantly be yourself … everyone else is taken! MAGGIE EDITOR In my early teenage years, I desperately wanted tan skin like my peers, but it was not in the genetic cards for me. As I got older, I learned to embrace my complexion, and it is now one of my favorite aspects of my appearance. This is just one of the many, many things I have wished to change about myself over the years. Everyone—no matter how beautiful, or rich or famous—has insecurities about SOME aspect of their appearance. Embrace what makes you unique and therefore beautiful. JULIA WRITER I have learned to be comfortable with who I am and the way I look and that confidence is the key. Maintaining our appearance in a healthy way is sure to make us feel confident and our best. Even if we don't think we're perfect, there are things about every one of us that are considered desirable by other women. Be proud of the beautiful features you were blessed with! Remember that outward appearance is only one aspect of true beauty, and we should not let our appearance consume us. Vol. 3, No. 2.
