The list honors physicians working in the healthcare industry who are deemed by their peers and an expert panel to be the most influential in terms of demonstrating leadership and impact. Dr. Wheeler was named CEO of Allina Health in 2015 after serving as the system's president and chief clinical officer for the prior two years. Within months of her promo- tion, Minnesota's governor asked Dr. Wheeler to serve on a task force to review the state's healthcare financing and access. Dr. Bell has served as the Foundation's interim president since August. Under his interim leader- ship, the foundation hosted its most successful fundrais- ing gala ever last December. The foun- dation recently an- nounced the receipt of a $4.6 million gift and grant from the Delta Dental Foundation of Minnesota that will expand access to dental ser vices in HCMC's new clinic and specialty building currently under construction. NORTH MEMORIAL BARIATRIC SURGICAL CENTER RECEIVES NATIONAL ACCREDITATION Nor th Memorial Health Care is proud to announce that its bariatric surgical center at Nor th Memorial Medical Center has been named as a fully accredited Low Acuity Center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surger y Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surger y. The national accreditation means that Nor th Memorial's program meets the highest standards for patient safety and quality of care.
