Johnson Photographers Peter Chollick Rich Schaub Kevin Birch Jeff Tureaud Noah Murray Designer Sherri Thornton We are pleased to announce the opening of our latest expansion with CentraState Health Pavilion at East Windsor. While we have had similar health care models open in Monroe and Jackson, we are adding an urgent care center to this location, which is convenient for communities in East Windsor, Hightstown, and Cranbury. With this new location we are expanding our footprint in eastern Mercer County, bordering on Middlesex County, and in close proximity to our medical offices in Monroe Township. The new location is located at 319 Rt. 130 N, at East Windsor Town Center Plaza. In addition to our first urgent care center, the new Health Pavilion will also be home to Family Practice of CentraState at East Windsor. Also coming soon are specialized physician offices, laboratory services, and physical therapy. The urgent care center—which is now open— is a partnership with Immediate Care, and will be known as Immediate Care Medical Walk-In of East Windsor, providing services such as emergency medical care and drug screenings. A hospital is traditionally there for its community to treat whatever ailments may befall its citizens. But we at CentraState also like to think that we're a place for hope—a place people can turn to when they're inspired and determined to better their health. In this issue of Healthy Directions we have several stories that revolve around hope, inspiration, and determination. On page 3 is the story of a man who lived with back and neck pain for several years until he was inspired to finally be rid of it through advanced surgery at CentraState. On page 4 is the story of a young woman who fell very ill with pneumonia, but was determined to sing at her school's recital just a few weeks later. On page 6 is the story of a woman who was inspired to get a health screening and found that she had breast cancer, but after successful treatment is hopeful of a healthy future. On page 8 is a story of a man who lived with excessively sweaty hands all his life, and was determined to put an end to it and shake someone's hand without trepidation, and he finally found hope after undergoing a procedure at CentraState that corrected his problem immediately. On page 9 is the story of a woman who underwent weight-loss surgery, which in turn inspired her sister-in-law to do the same, and they've collectively lost nearly 300 pounds. And finally, on page 10 is the story of a woman who was told she may never walk again following a major cardiac incident, but through sheer determination and a hard road of rehabilitation at CentraState, is now ambulatory with the assistance of crutches, and is still improving, hoping that one day soon she'll be walking with no assistance at all. We hope these stories will inspire you to take to control of your health, as well. One of the key ways we try to inspire our community is by holding various health screenings. If you are committed to being in control of your health, getting screened is the most proactive thing you can do. You'll find a list of upcoming health screenings on the back page of this magazine, and you can discover more at www.centrastate.com/healthprograms. John T. Gribbin, FACHE President & CEO
