Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with a lecture starting at 6 p.m. "BALANCING INDEPENDENCE" Wed., Sept. 21, 5:30-7 p.m. Bartley Healthcare and Rehabilitation, 175 Bartley Road, Jackson, NJ 08527 Discussion will include the frequency of falls in older adults, potential side effects of a fall, interventions to prevent falls, and how to get up from a fall. Gentle exercises that you can do will be demonstrated. A light dinner will be provided. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. with a lecture starting at 6 p.m. Ongoing Screenings LUNG SCREENINGS CentraState's screening program is open to former or current smokers who are age 55 and older and meet certain criteria, including having smoked for 30 pack years or more (1 pack a day for 30 years, 2 packs a day for 15 years, etc.) who are currently smoking or have quit within the past 15 years, with no symptoms of lung cancer, or known pulmonary nodules. Patients need a prescription from their doctor. MOLESAFE SKIN SCREENINGS CentraState's Melanoma Center offers a highly trained medical team of dermatologists and surgeons who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, as well as the screening service MoleSafe: a skin documentation system that uses total body photography. Ongoing Program BALANCE AND DIZZINESS PROGRAM Regain your sense of balance at the OceanFirst Rehabilitation Center's Balance and Dizziness Program. Our new, state- of-the-art facility and highly trained staff specialize in the treatment of frequent falls, walking disorders, feelings of dizziness or vertigo, and balance deficits. We also offer vestibular rehabilitation, audiology services, balance and movement classes, and home assessment in cooperation with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey.
