Central New York 05-820 PUBLISHER from the ............................................... Richard Keene PUBLISHER Central New York ............................................... rkeene@mdnews.com 315-446-8331 ............................................... @MDNewsCentralNY Thank you very much for reading this latest edition of MD News. Once again, we examine the world-class health care available right here in Central New York. Our July-August cover story focuses on the hand and wrist team at Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists (SOS). If you are a regular reader of this magazine, you recognize SOS as a regional leader in orthopedic services. While SOS oers comprehensive orthopedic care and its providers have privileges at many hospitals in Syracuse and the surrounding areas, five of its specialists — and one more who will join the practice in September — are devoted specifically to treating conditions aecting the hand and wrist. As a group, SOS hand and wrist specialists evaluate and treat numerous patients who seek medical attention for a broad spectrum of injuries and debilitating conditions. To address the needs of the large volume of patients seeking care, SOS recruited dedicated orthopedic support sta and built an outpatient surgery center equipped with leading-edge technology for orthopedic surgery. This is a group that plans for the future. Our special feature focuses on the Upstate Breast Care Center, the practice of Mary Ellen Greco, MD, and Kristine Keeney, MD. Drs. Greco and Keeney joined Upstate University Hospital to create the first comprehensive breast care center in the community, utilizing their expertise in the areas of benign and malignant breast disease. A•liated with Upstate University Hospital and Upstate Cancer Center, the practice is committed to the highest quality breast care. The Upstate Breast Care Center's comprehensive approach to breast care is facilitated by the seamless communication among all caregivers. Once again, I would like to thank all those who come together to create our magazine. At MD News, we are dedicated to delivering an engaging reader experience, one with real local relevance. In each issue, we highlight distinguished and accomplished physicians and practice groups. We also provide updates about the latest medical studies, pointers for managing your practice and a unique look at what is happening in the local medical community. We love to receive nominations for our cover stories, as well as current news within your organization and feedback on articles. I would also like to suggest that you visit mdnews.com to discover a wonderful resource for healthcare marketing. We are here to serve the physician and healthcare community.
