there, mining for your personal information in order to gain access to your money.
Don't get scammed! Follow these simple DO's and DON'Ts:
> DON'T give out personal information to
people who call, text or email you.
> DO be mindful of opening emails from people
or companies you don't know.
> DON'T click on any unsolicited attachments
in an email or text.
> DO add antivirus and anti-malware
applications to your computer, tablet
and smartphone.
> DON'T use the same login and
password for multiple accounts.
> DON'T automatically believe it if someone
calls you saying they are with the IRS. Ask for
and record their name, badge number and a call-
back phone number. Record their caller ID number if
it is available to you. Then call 800-366-4484 to verify the
caller is an IRS employee. Report scam suspicions by sending
an email to phishing@irs.gov with the subject line, "IRS
Phone Scam." Also of note: the IRS will never initiate contact
with you via email, text message or social media channels.
