Pediatric Surgery
Akron Children's Hospital's pediatric surgery team includes surgeons, pediatric anesthesiologists, residents, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and child life specialists who are dedicated to meeting the unique medical needs of children and their families. Our pediatric surgeons have expertise in all aspects of general surgery, including endoscopic and laparoscopic techniques, and conditions related to the chest, abdomen and pelvis.
Our Surgical Services department performs more than 15,000 pediatric surgical procedures each year – more than any other hospital in northeast Ohio. There are now seven pediatric general surgeons on Akron Children's medical staff.
