SINCE ITS INCEPTION in 1951, Claxton-Hepburn Auxiliary members have given their compassion, time, and dedication to their community hospital. Auxiliary members have fullled 10 pledges in the last 22 years alone, raising nearly $1.4 million through various fundraisers to fund projects and programs at Claxton-Hepburn. In May 2016, the Auxiliary donated a total of $158,500 to support changes, including the following: • $125,000 toward a new pledge of $250,000 to the Foundation • $15,000 to the intensive care unit for waiting room renovations • $12,000 to the Claxton-Hepburn Health Center for clinic renovations "It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with these ladies every day," says Ramona Kennedy, Claxton-Hepburn Auxiliary liaison and Lifeline program manager. "They are so dedicated to serving and supporting Claxton-Hepburn. When I need volunteers for a vendor sale or an outreach project, they're always there. They have come to be known as 'Sweethearts of the Auxiliary.'" An overwhelming number of community members also take part in the Auxiliary's events to help support Claxton- Hepburn's programs. "The community plays a signicant role in our donation efforts—particularly in our annual holiday festival and other key community outreach events, like our Sock-It-To-Me event," Kennedy says. "We couldn't pull it off without our compassionate community's support and dedication." Want to learn more about the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary?
