But there are healthy cereals that kids like — unsweetened, toasted whole-grain oats, for example. To find the best choice, check the Nutrition Facts label. Look for cereal with: – fewer than 4 grams of sugar per serving – at least 3 grams of fiber per serving – "100 percent whole grain" listed as the first ingredient Be wary of misleading claims about cereals that are about as nutritious as a junk-food dessert. If the front of the box says "a good source of fiber," but the cereal is one-third refined sugar, it's not a healthy choice.
