CHI St. Joseph's Health has been proud to be your local hospital and partner in health for 70 years. During that time, we've evolved and expanded, working to provide you and your family, friends, and neighbors with the health care you need and deserve. Recently, we brought Dr. Brennen Smith to CHI St. Joseph's Health to provide inpatient, outpatient, and trauma-related orthopedic and spine procedures to patients on a full-time basis. Dr. Smith's skills and dedication mean residents of the Park Rapids area can have the orthopedic procedures they need without having to leave the community for these services. Another way we're offering additional services to you is through telemedicine. CHI St. Joseph's Health Telepsychiatry services help people who come to our Emergency Department suffering with behavioral health issues. This service is made possible thanks to a grant from Telehealth Network Grant Program from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. Bringing our healing mission to the people of Park Rapids is not confined to our efforts in hospital care. In fact, many CHI St. Joseph's Health programs take place outside of patient rooms or operating rooms. One example of this is the Parkinson's Exercise & Wellness program, designed to help individuals with Parkinson's retain their strength and balance as well as slow disease progression. While some of our programs are subsidized through grants, others are funded in part by your generosity. CHI St. Joseph's Health Foundation raises funds annually through several events. Our upcoming third annual Foundation Gala will be held on Saturday, October 15. Proceeds from this year's gala will benefit the new Orthopedic & Spine Surgery services.
