is November marks the 65th anniversary of your Credit Union! It
is also the month we celebrate anksgiving. And at Redstone Federal
Credit Union
®
, we have much to be thankful for, including more than
380,000 loyal members. A few of those members with 50-plus years
of membership are highlighted in this issue (see page 4).
I am also thankful to the 11 original members who each put $5 into
a shoebox and founded this organization in 1951. at's a long time
ago, and being curious, I Googled the year 1951.
It was quite a year. e average American home cost $9,000, a new
car was $1,500, and a gallon of gas was just 19 cents.
Over the years, prices have gone up along with incomes. A luxury car can now cost more
than $50,000. So, at Redstone, we decided to celebrate turning 65 this November by giving
one lucky member $65,000 for a really nice car. For more information on our anniversary
giveaway, visit redfcu.org/65K.
All Redstone members can be proud of how far their Credit Union has come and how,
by providing a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we have all made many people's lives
richer and brighter. Whether it's a friendly smile in a branch, an auto loan rate a bank
couldn't match, or a scholarship for a deserving college-bound student – together we
have made a difference!
Happy Holidays from our family to yours!
