Each year, the Marsh Lecture gives investigators at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research the opportunity to learn and forge collaborative relationships with world-renowned researchers. Recently, Bruce W. Stillman, PhD, president of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, presented, "Inheritance of the Human Genome and the Consequences of Getting it Wrong." Jennifer A. Doudna, PhD, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California, Berkeley, presented, "CRISPR Biology and the Future of Genome Engineering." Visit FeinsteinInstitute.org/events for a complete list of upcoming events presented by the Feinstein Institute. The fifth annual Advancing Women in Science and Medicine (AWSM) Awards Breakfast celebrated National Women's Health Week and highlighted the women responsible for many scientific accomplishments at the Feinstein Institute. The Feinstein Institute and its journal Molecular Medicine awarded the fourth annual Ross Prize in Molecular Medicine to Charles N. Serhan, PhD, director of the Center for Experimental Therapeutics and Reperfusion Injury at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Serhan and other preeminent researchers presented lectures following the awards ceremony. Feinstein Institute Happenings Each week, the Feinstein Institute offers multiple opportunities to stay abreast of leading-edge research by Institute scientists and those within its collaborative network. For example, attend one-hour Feinstein Institute Visiting Professor Seminars (formerly Seminars in Investigative Medicine), where non-Feinstein Institute scientists who are recognized experts in their fields lecture and host an audience Q&A. The Feinstein Institute, the Karolinska Institutet, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and Journal of Internal Medicine hosted the 13th Key Symposium 2016: Bioelectronic Medicine — Technology Targeting Molecular Mechanisms Sept. 21–23 in Manhattan. Thought leaders who have the potential to explore, define and create the new field of bioelectronic medicine discussed topics ranging from computer processing to molecular technology. The 11th annual Feinstein Summer Concert, which featured Grammy- and American Music Award-nominated band OneRepublic, was held July 14 at Old Westbury Gardens. The event drove philanthropic support for research programs set across Northwell Health's 2,200-square-mile footprint throughout the New York metropolitan area.
