4 Forever First | Fall 2016 • To find a physician, call (844) 778-KIDS. Pediatric Primary Care Heads West There's a lot to like about the growing western portion of San Antonio, but until recently, this neighborhood was missing something important: adequate pediatric coverage. That changed this summer. To schedule an appointment at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Primary Care – Dominion Crossing, call (844) 778-KIDS. In August, The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Primary Care – Dominion Crossing opened at 21727 IH-10 West, Suite 205, in San Antonio. The practice makes it easier for parents to find pediatric health care in the thriving I-10 corridor. "This area has lots of young families and new homes, but it didn't have many pediatric providers," says Theresa Willis, M.D., one of three pediatricians at The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Primary Care – Dominion Crossing. "I'm a native Texan who spent the past five years practicing in Austin. I came to The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Primary Care – Dominion Crossing because I love the Hill Country and I recognized an exciting opportunity to grow and develop with west San Antonio." A Health Care Home From Birth to Young Adulthood Open 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Primary Care – Dominion Crossing serves infants, toddlers, school-age children and teenagers. Dr. Willis, longtime San Antonio pediatrician Juan Jose Ferreris, M.D., and pediatrician Courtney Smith, M.D., who recently completed her residency, offer comprehensive well- and sick- child care from birth to age 18. Other services include: • Immunizations • Management of certain chronic and behavioral health conditions, such as Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) • Sports physicals "Everything about the practice — the location, hours, and number of pediatricians on staff — is intended to make it easier for children to get the care they need quickly, whether it's making same-day appointments or getting last-minute sports physicals before the start of a new school year," Dr. Willis says. "One of the biggest questions for families when it comes to pediatric care is, 'Can my children get in to see their physician?' We want to ensure that for families in this area, the answer will always be 'yes.'" COMING SOON! Get ready, north San Antonio families — close-to-home children's health care is about to get even better. Already home to The Children's Hospital of San Antonio Primary Care practice at 20642 Stone Oak Parkway, the Stone Oak area will soon welcome a major expansion of the Hospital's services. A July groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction on a new pediatric health pavilion. When it opens next summer, the facility will house a variety of pediatric providers and services that families currently can only find downtown. The Children's Hospital of San Antonio looks forward to caring for patients close to where they live, play and learn. Theresa Willis, M.D.
